Make recurring NX tasks easier

XSN combines extensions for daily CAD work and automated processes in NX™ software. Recurring steps become shorter, agreed standards are easier to apply, and complex tasks can be automated reliably.

Add-ons, tools, and actions can be combined for the task at hand: as guided capabilities at the workstation, automated runs, or focused commands for frequent steps.

Add-ons: guided capabilities in NX

Add-ons extend the NX interface with guided capabilities for common design and drafting tasks.

The XSN Quality Workflow Add-on integrates the operation and execution of customer-configured NX Check-Mate validation into the intended NX workflow.

• Design and navigation: Find master models faster, work with model structures, and update reference elements.
• Drawings and standards: Manage drawing sheets, dimension tables, text, layers, and presentation standards efficiently.
• Quality and consistency: Invoke NX Check-Mate validation, standardise colour schemes, and update legacy settings with confidence.
• Output and exchange: Export drawing sheets and parts or start output jobs from the current NX context.

Tools: automate repeatable tasks

Tools automatically execute complex or recurring NX tasks.

• XSN Quality Automation Tool: Invoke customer-configured NX Check-Mate validation automatically through NX Open and provide structured results.
• Part Family Generator: Generate part-family variants reproducibly.
• Rendering Generator: Create defined representations and output results automatically.
• Report Components Tool: Evaluate assembly information and make it available to downstream processes.

These tools support standardised validation, generation, and reporting workflows.

Actions: frequent steps with one command

Actions package clearly defined NX commands for menus, toolbars, and guided workflows. Examples include switching between master model and drawing, saving related content, refreshing PLM attributes, and applying defined layer, view, and drafting settings.

Users reach the desired result with fewer individual steps. Agreed working practices also become easier to establish in daily work.

Matched to the NX version in use

XSN is provided for each approved NX version. Add-ons, tools, and actions can be combined to match the deployed version and required functionality.

Automated validation and approval workflows support reliable delivery and keep functionality, NX compatibility, and package contents transparent.

Dependency on NX Check-Mate

The XSN Quality Automation Tool and XSN Quality Workflow Add-on are Syncware extensions for NX™ software. They are not standalone validation programs and do not contain validation logic independent of NX Check-Mate. Through NX Open, the extensions use the NX Check-Mate capabilities provided and configured in the customer environment.

Licensing requirements for NX extensions

The customer-specific .NET extensions are compiled by Syncware. The customer must provide an appropriate NX Open Author licence for .NET for customer-side signing. If the extensions are not signed this way, the Author licence must be available in the runtime environment.

For execution, NX Check-Mate and all other NX capabilities used by the add-ons, actions, and tools must be licensed and configured for runtime use in the customer environment.
